Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV
Pope Leo XIV – the current leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
Herbert has two independent CTU paths to the Pope.
Via Bob Schreiter: Robert Schreiter is Herbert's colleague at CTU and was connected to Bob Prevost through that community.
Via Dianne Bergant: Dianne Bergant, CSA — Professor of Biblical Studies at CTU — had Bob Prevost in two of her classes in the late 1970s, when he was a student there before going on to become an Augustinian friar, a bishop in Peru, Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops, and ultimately Pope.
Combined with Herbert's direct meeting with Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, this places Herbert remarkably close to the center of Catholic Church leadership — not bad for a Lutheran.
