Wolfhart Pannenberg — German Protestant theologian and one of the major systematic theologians of the second half of the 20th century. Known for his theology of history and his insistence that Christian claims — including the resurrection — must be argued in the public arena of historical reason, not retreated into private faith. His Systematic Theology (3 volumes) is a landmark of the field.
